Works and duties 2004 |
In spite of the grey sky and the small rain showers, thirty people were present for the meeting on Monday morning, May 31st 2004, with their brooms and shovels.
They cleared away bits of gravel and weeds from the village streets : one group for the upper half of the village and another one for the bottom half and both met at the inn to celebrate a clean village and have a drink.
This spring-cleaning is a way of showing the solidarity of the "Valezanais" and their attachment to their quality of life.
Many thanks to all those who took part in the cleaning, as well as those who, all year round, give a hand for the maintenance of the village and in the good functioning of their district, even if they cannot join us on the given day. Flowers, maintenance around houses, around the bachals (village fountains), supervision of the drains etc ... : all this work contributes to the quality of life in the village.
The next village chores day will be in 2005.
